Dentistry

Does your pet’s breath stink? Is he/she eating less or seems to avoid hard food/treats? If so this could be a sign of dental disease. Dogs and cats can have a multitude of dental problems including, periodontal disease, fractures, gingivitis, receding gum lines, masses, gingival hyperplasia, stomatitis, plaque and more.

Just as in us, dental disease can be a serious issue for our pets. Not only can dental issues be painful they can also lead to heart, kidney or liver disease. Keeping up on dental cleanings and care can significantly lengthen your pet’s life and positively affect quality of life as well.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are an important part of keeping our pets healthy. They can either help completely prevent or lessen the clinical signs associated with disease. Core vaccines in dogs are Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella with at risk vaccines of Leptospirosis and Canine Influenza. Core vaccines in cats are Rabies and FVRCP (Feline Distemper) with at risk vaccine of Feline Leukemia. We also have the ability to send out vaccine titers to determine whether a vaccine is currently needed.

Wellness Exam

Wellness exams are incredibly important for dogs and cats of all ages. Early diagnosis and warning signs of disease can be lifesaving. Our wellness exams include a complete physical examination, which is a nose-to-tail inspection for any abnormalities using special equipment as needed, including a stethoscope to listen to the heart and lungs, an otoscope to view the inside of the ears, and an ophthalmoscope to examine the eyes. In addition, we will check your pet’s vital signs (temperature, pulse, and respiration) and record your pet’s current weight.

Internal Medicine

While not specialists we do internal medicine determining function, diagnosis, pathology, and treatment of internal body systems. Common diseases affecting these systems in dogs and cats are diabetes, hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism infectious diseases, anemia, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatitis, acute or chronic kidney failure and pneumonia.
